Waverley had its faults, but could easily have been retained as a third ground, or even simply a ground for VFL/TAC Cup football.

If there was 7 or more guys and they bashed Cloke like they did then they are a bunch of cowards... The kind of guys that can bash someone in a group like that are absolute scum and it's ridiculous to me that anyone would even listen to their side. And their version of events would almost certainly be absolute crap ...

Carltons finals aspirations -...
Published (2009-01-06 06:07:44)
Why Carlton will fail in 2009: Firstly, they haven't made the Finals since 2001. They have lost so much talent since then and people automatically think the likes of Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Carrots, Kreuzer, Jamison, Waite, etc is going to make up for the losses of Silvagni, Bradley, Kouta, Ratten, Camporeale, Allan, Lappin, McKay and Whitnall. There's a lot of talent there, and Allan is better than any ruckman Carlton has had since...

Everybody seems to talk about how Brisbane has been the strongest team of this decade, I disagree completely. Geelong and Hawthorn are far stronger teams the only issue is the two teams themselves. They are that good that the competition is too stiff for them to win consecutive flags. If Geelong or Hawthorn had to play the Collingwood of 2001,2002 and Port Adelaide (which Geelong wiped the ...

That's from Terry Wallace's mouth himself (Channel Nine news). I'm surprised to hear he couldn't complete a training run around the Tan, considering the volume of 'he's in the best fitness of his life' claims around here and from so called experts. Will he be fit for Round 1 is the big question here. I guess the other one is, did Richmond make the right choice picking a guy who hadn't played ...

Just something to pass the summer - how will you remember these players? Pretty trivial, but for argument's sake, playing with which club will you remember: -Chris Heffernan -Nathan Lonie -Blake Caracella -Justin Blumfield -Simon Cox -Stuart Cochrane -Byron Pickett -Nick Stevens -Andrew Williams -Glenn Freeborn -Peter ...

HERALD SUN January 4, 2009 EXCLUSIVE: The AFL is at war with Telstra Dome over stadium naming rights, sponsorship deals and the venue's use by Melbourne Victory. Supreme Court documents reveal the bitter clash has turned personal, with more than a dozen letters exchanged between AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou and Telstra Dome boss Ian Collins. The contents of the ...

Every year each Club seems to have a player or two that surprise everyone and have opposition supporters saying 'where did he come from??' That is, who will be the player that you as a supporter would be surprised if they step up to be a consistent performer. Example: As an Adelaide supporter, I was surprised that Bernie Vince and David Mackay had such an impact after their average ...

I don't know if this thread has been done already but the longer I think about it the more I am shocked at the decision. Nick Maxwell just isn't a good enough footballer to be a captain of an AFL side. I thought we would struggle with A Simpson as our leader but through ball winning ablility and leadership he led superbly. I know that Maxwell shows courage and is hard at it but to me he is like ...

Who was the team that dominated each decade? Dont look at a single season, look at their overall performance for the decade. 1890s- Fitzroy 1900s- Carlton 1910s- Collingwood 1920s- Collingwood 1930s- Collingwood 1940s- Essendon just pipping Dees 1950s- Melbourne 1960s- Essendon 1970s- Carlton just pipping Hawks, Tiges and Kangas 1980s- Hawthorn 1990s- West Coast, although many would ...

Obviously the Rising Star winners might make up the majority but I would be interested to see what BF's views are on them ... I for one think Rioli had a much better first year than Palmer so I disagree on this year, but what about previous years? I would dump out the last 10 or so Rising star winners, but the AFL link to do it isn't working (surprise, suprise) ...

If carlton didnt get Judd, They would of gotten Kruezer and Palmer/Morton ( they rated Morton/palmer equally third They would of kept Kennedy They would have gotten Selwood/Ward at pick 20 last year. Without judd this year they would of won 4-5 less games, which would of qualified them for pick 1 and 2 in this years draft. So they would of gotten Watts and Natanui, ...

1. Push it back to 2015. For many reasons: - - the AFL needs to stop the current clubs pinching all the good NSW juniors on scholarships. If they drop that program after this year and feed all promisiing NSW/ACT juniors into a West Sydney development squad. - boost the AR profile in WS with a 5 year plan 2. 5 Year Plan - Blacktown will be ready for footy from 2010. Whilst this will not be ...

Why Australian rules football is tougher than American ( Grid Iron) football I've sent a YouTube link of AFL to an American friend in Florida.
