keiko mentality

Try a different approach entirely... keiko means 'practise', so get her to practise the point of the lesson, ie if doing say kote-hidari men, try and slip that in to the keiko more regularly than usual. Maybe it would help if she regards the opponent more as a moving target to try and get her technique right, rather than a straght match.

Oh...wait a sec.. I thought the guy was being all poetic and deep. I forgot. Dude's a whack-job. Rantings of a mad-man, and all that. I simply don't have time to keep track of the players in this insane asylum anymore.

Is it Phil or his Kool-Aid loving disciple Damien? I tend to compare Phil less to Santa and more to Bigfoot...........because it seems no one has ever seen him and those that claim to have seen him are met with ridicule. Could also have something to do with the self righteous stench from his long bitter diatribes, a little self indulgent aren't we Phil/Damien? So in short Christmas Kendo is a myth, just like Phil being able to make any of...

That makes roughly dick all sense to me. I think you need to get some sleep and stop drinking before posting again. And disable to comma key on your keyboard. And learn to write legible prose. If it was supposed to be prose. That was a guess judging by the absurdity of the content.

Writing in respect, to the WKF... Censorship is a difficult subject to deal with. One idea professed is, that information should be made available, to everyone. No censorship, at all. But, another idea professed is, that information should not be available to everyone, and thereby should be protected, by a strict form of censorship. However, whatever your views on those ideas may be, there is a third option that should always be considered....

Some thoughts after reading that: - Was there a surplus of commas that needed to be used? - What was that about anyway? I read the whole thing and have no idea. - Who the hell is Alice? - Don't drink and post.

My girlfriend petitioned me to ask a question for her. She asked: "How would you approach keiko (specifically jigeiko) with a do-or-die mentality without turning it into a competitive shiai, and without it becoming detrimental to you?" I couldn't really answer. For me the do-or-die mentality is fine, and the fact that I 'die' a crap load and will 'die' millions of times more doesn't bother ...

Tenouchi in essence comes down to a grip. "Te" meaning hand, "No" means of, and "Uchi" means inside. Put it together and you basically get the inside of your hands. It's not an easy subject to explain or grasp, and many wont for many of their years practicing kendo. Some sensei's will not tell you anything about tenouchi, so you discover it yourself. But either way here is a basic idea of ...

Writing a muse, in good humour... Have you ever noticed, Kendo practise is however many hours per week in a dojo, and alot of time sitting about thinking about Kendo? People sit about doing alot of nothing at Christmas. There's only so much you can eat, as a gluton. And only so much idiot's lantern you can look at, before becoming mindless with boredom. So, what do you Kendo think, about?...

How much stock do you guys put into an instructor having the ability to introduce jodan/nito to a willing student? a curious student? a student who, for some medical reason, doesn't/can't do chudan? And touching on that, what level of "instructor" should be able to do this? 4.dan? 5.dan? 6.dan+? And if, at that level, an "instructor" should be able to do this, when should he start...

So, I have been taught the basics of fumikomi from many differnt people, and have felt that my fumikomi was somewhat decent. But I have been having a lot of issues with my lower left back and my ribs on my left side(pain, and rib dysfunction, etc). I have felt that by putting pressure on my left side, while being in Chudan, and when going for a long men, when I do fumi komi, it seems I put ...

Hey guys, I was just wondering what are your thoughts for entering into your first competition. I'm going to be participating in NSW State champs. And as far as I know, Shiai is a lot different to jigeiko. And is there anything that I should know etiquette wise before going into the competition? haha. Just to make sure that I don't embarass my dojo.
